Giving

God’s work through Central Presbyterian Church is supported by the tithes and offerings of this congregation. Your generosity allows us to care for the people in Waxahachie, across Ellis County, the country, and around the world.

Scripture speaks to us about giving our first fruits to God, that is giving to God before we do anything else with our income. “Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce;” Proverbs 3:9

We also hear the words tithe and offering. A tithe is a tenth of what you earn, gross earnings. God says that the tithe is His: “Every tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord”. Leviticus 27:30. As we give to God, the first ten percent or tithe, is God’s. Anything over and above that is our offering.

There are a variety of ways to give at Central Presbyterian.

Join us on Sunday morning and place your offering in one of our offering plates that will be passed during the service.

Mail a check to the church office. Our address is below.

Online banking: Your bank account can be setup to send checks automatically. Have them mailed to the church office.

Donation of stocks or mutual funds can often provide you with added tax benefits. A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals to donate directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distribution. Contact the church office to arrange to speak to our Treasurer who can inform you on the steps necessary for making a gift to Central Presbyterian Church. Please consult a tax professional before initiating any transfer of securities.
